
The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) is proud to share a staff promotion, new appointments, and notable achievements that highlight the organization’s continued growth and leadership in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Staff Updates & Appointments
- Jon Scheuren was promoted to Senior Director of Sports and appointed Vice Chair of the PA Sports Executive Committee, helping to elevate Pennsylvania’s profile as a leading hub for sports tourism.
- Jake Markezin, Senior Vice President of Operations, was named to City & State Pennsylvania’s 2025 Fifty Over 50 list, recognizing influential leaders across the Commonwealth.
- Megan Tomlinson, Executive Director of Events, Membership & Services, was appointed to the Montgomery County Chamber Board of Governors, where she will help guide business development and community initiatives.
- Samantha Cole, Senior Director of Marketing & Media Relations, was appointed to the Board of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, strengthening ties between tourism and the local business community.
- Rachel Riley, Vice President of Marketing & Communications, was appointed to the America250 Montgomery County Commission, which will oversee local efforts tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
- Rachel Dailey, Associate Director of Sports, was appointed Chair of the PA Sports Marketing Committee, supporting statewide collaboration and marketing strategies for sports tourism.

Spotlight on Jon Scheuren
An experienced facility operations and sports tourism sales leader with more than 11 years of experience, Jon leads the sports division in sales, marketing, partnership development, and facility planning. He has driven record-breaking results for the Greater Philadelphia area, achieving historic growth from 2022 to 2024 and positioning the region for continued success in 2025.
Jon oversees a team dedicated to attracting high-impact national sporting events, cultivating relationships with local and state officials, facility partners, and executive leaders nationwide. His leadership has helped generate significant economic impact, strengthen partnerships with more than 80 hotels, and expand Valley Forge’s reputation as a premier sports destination.
A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Physical Education and Sports Management, Jon has held leadership positions across major sports facilities and organizations, consistently delivering growth, building strong partnerships, and championing the power of sports to transform communities.
Jon’s impact has also been recognized by VFTCB partners and colleagues:
“I first met Jon at a Teams convention in Orlando several years ago, and it was clear right away how much enthusiasm he brings to everything he does,” said Paul Tornetta of The Proving Grounds. “He takes initiative, he’s passionate, and you can just tell he truly loves this work. Jon has always been 100 percent youth sports driven, and a lot of our success is thanks to the partnership and leadership of Valley Forge Sports. Congratulations to Jon on this well-deserved promotion to Senior Director. There is no doubt he will continue to raise the bar for sports in our region.”
