Philadelphia International Airport is ranked among the ten most expensive airports in the United States, specifically during the summer months, writes Claudia Dimuro for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.
A study by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts identified the local airport as the seventh priciest for parking, citing an average weekend cost of $14.57.
The top three most expensive airports for parking are Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport in third place, where travelers paid an average of $18.25 for weekend parking during the peak summer months; Los Angeles International Airport in second, with an average weekend cost of $21.10; and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, which topped the list with the highest average weekend parking rate of $23.16.
“Airport parking can be surprisingly expensive, especially on the weekends during summer when prices tend to go up and everyone’s traveling,” wrote Nationwide Vehicle Contracts. “If you’re flying out of an expensive airport this summer, an affordable transfer service (available in lots of cities globally) could save you a good chunk of change compared to piling up parking fees.”
