Part-Time Instructional Designer Technologist

This position collaborates with others in the College community, designs and develops rich learning environments, provides technical support and course design support, and provides professional development training. In addition, promote the use of instructional technologies, design, and learning practices, and resource management through various methods, with a focus on pedagogical enhancements in support of student success and employee development.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
  • Three years’ experience in software training, course design, or instructional technology, preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of: current instructional technologies and instructional design principles and techniques; Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint); lecture capture software; learning management systems (LMS – Canvas); accessibility; and artificial intelligence (AI and GAI).
  • Ability to Assist: development of instructional materials; basic troubleshot of technical processes; and entering, organizing, maintaining, and analyzing data.
  • Team Dynamics: Establish cooperative working relationships with the community, collaborate and support colleagues on the team and their projects, and actively address cases related to the department that are forwarded from the IT Service Desk.
  • Independent: able to learn and adapt to new technologies or approaches at a rapid pace, manage priorities for multiple projects and various deadlines, and can adapt if priorities shift; strong problem-solving skills; customer service skills; and ability to work with all levels of experience and backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written format for various levels of fluency, multicultural environments, and diverse populations.
  • Flexibility in assigned work hours (e.g., periodically attending evening events) and campus location (Pottstown and Blue Bell).

Part-Time Coordinator of Student Services

This position reports to the Senior Director of the Pottstown Campus Operations and is primarily responsible for the coordination of the Student Services Resource Center (SSRC), the Student Services (SS) Front Desk, Federal Work study student employees, Student Ambassadors, and Student Services Assistants within the Pottstown Student Services Center.

This position also provides back-up coverage to Pottstown Student Services areas as needed and works collaboratively with other departments to ensure student success. This position has the responsibility to develop and coordinate a comprehensive, college-wide approach to addressing the needs of students to strengthen enrollment and registration, improve retention, and increase
academic success. This position includes evening administrative coverage responsibilities for the Enrollment Services Area. Assists with processing requests as needed.

Working hours are from 2-7:00 PM, with Saturdays required as needed, but especially during peak registration times.

*This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. The primary office location is the Pottstown campus.
**This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years of Higher Education Experience (Community College experience preferred).
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Two years of processing experience with system optimization work preferred.
  • Understanding of Community College philosophy, practice, and population.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; highly organized.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with records/registration systems (Colleague preferred).
  • Customer service experience.
