Some Lower Merion and Narberth residents could soon see money back in their wallets thanks to 2024 school tax rebates, writes Denali Sagner for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Homeowners and renters earning $46,520 or less annually may qualify if they also meet one of the following: age 65 or older, age 50+ and widowed, or 18+ with a disability.
The rebate supplements Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/ Rent Rebate Program. Depending on income, the Lower Merion School District will kick in an extra 50 percent of whatever rebate you receive from the state. A copy of a tax bill is not required.
To apply, residents must download and complete the school district’s form, then mail it along with a copy of their 2024 PA-1000 and proof of state rebate to the Lower Merion School District’s Business Office in Ardmore.
Documents must be submitted between July 1 and July 30 of next year. Residents can expect their rebate checks within 30 days of filing.
