Upper Dublin and North Penn Headed to State College for PIAA Baseball Championships

Upper Dublin High School is one of two Montco baseball teams heading to the 2025 PIAA baseball championships, along with North Penn High School.

Upper Dublin High School and North Penn High School are two of the three District 1 teams heading to State College for PIAA baseball championships on June 12 and 13, writes Mike Sielski for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ahead of their PIAA Class 5A semifinal matchup, Upper Dublin High School was given a spirited sendoff by the school, with students and teachers alike lining up as the team boarded the bus. Now they want to repay everybody by aiming higher and possibly achieving something unprecedented.

“We want one more,” said senior Ben Wilkins, Upper Dublin’s starting third baseman. “This is not just for the baseball team. This is for the entire school, to be a state champion.”

Meanwhile, North Penn is no stranger to state titles, winning the honor in 2009, 2013, and 2015. This year, however, the Knights captured the District 1 championship for the first time since 2008.

“There have been times it’s been harder to win the District 1 tournament than it was to win the state tournament because we had to get through such a grind,” said coach Kevin Manero.
