Norristown’s Asylon Sends Robot Dogs to Guard Major Stadiums

Norristown-based Asylon is sending robot dogs and drones to patrol stadiums and events nationwide—with Philadelphia sites likely next.

Asylon, a cutting-edge robotics company based in Norristown, is turning heads with its fleet of robot dogs and drones, writes Brendan Brightman and Tim Furlong for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

These robotics are now patrolling high-profile venues across the country. From stadiums to manufacturing sites, the Montco startup is redefining what modern private security looks like.

The AI-powered canines are capable of 90-minute patrols and autonomous recharging. They have been deployed for nighttime surveillance at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They have performed scanning and detection at this year’s Indianapolis 500. Equipped with advanced sensors, these robo-guardians can detect intruders, suspicious objects, and even hazardous chemicals.

“Robots do the dull, dirty, and dangerous really, really well,” said CEO Damon Henry. “Imagine a nighttime patrol, walking the fence line through the grass line in the middle of the night, it acting as that deterrent effect.”

Operating out of a converted mill building in Norristown, Asylon’s 55-person team monitors every mission from its Robotics Operation Center, even remotely launching drones to keep eyes in the sky. While the robots aren’t built for chasing suspects, their visual and scent-based detection systems rival those of real dogs.

With national momentum building, Asylon hopes to expand into Philadelphia-area stadiums soon, bringing Montco-made solutions to the region’s biggest events.
