Delco Day X is celebrating 10 years today, officially set to take off at 2 PM, Saturday, June 7, until 2 AM Sunday, at Dolan’s Bar in Ridley Park, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.
The annual event features a 12-hour party celebrating all things Delco with live music, food, and fun for a good cause.
Proceeds benefit the HEADstrong Foundation and will also support local residents in their fight against cancer.
This will be the eighth year that the HEADstrong Foundation will be among the recipients.
Since the special day premiered in 2016, the event has raised more than $170,000 for HEADstrong and other local charities.
The venue at 24 E. Sellers Ave is presented and founded by Delco Live, emceed by Delco Live’s “Big Al” Zaffiri of Clifton Heights and Chris “Hollywood” Holbrook of Lansdowne.
Admission is also a tribute to the county’s once-most-used area code, 610. The cost to get in is $6.10, payable at the door.
The live entertainment takes place over 12 hours on two stages.
At 6 p.m., there will be a ceremony to swear in new Delcorians. Each new resident will receive a custom “Delco” flag.
