Companies that want to incorporate AI innovations into their operations need to draw on in-house experts while they consult with external talent, writes Maya Derrick for Technology Magazine.
In-house experts can identify the most suitable AI uses for their company, while external talent can relay insights about AI that was implemented at other organizations, according to SAP America’s Chief AI Officer, Jared Coyle.
“The in-house knowledge is critical to make sure you integrate with existing systems and processes, and the external talent better helps you fully leverage newer AI capabilities to keep AI systems running smoothly,” he said.
Using both is a powerful strategy that provides seamless integration with legacy systems, using the full potential of emerging AI capabilities.
A global survey by McKinsey & Company shows that organizations are actively working to keep up with AI, especially Generative AI.
To help in that process, companies should be redesigning workflows, elevating governance, and addressing new risks.
SAP also emphasizes the importance of data quality.
“It doesn’t matter if AI, process automation, bots, or predictive analytics are adopted. Without high-quality data, these core technologies can never truly benefit any company.” SAP stated in a blog.
