Roxanne Fitzgerald owns and operates two Nothing Bundt Cakes franchises, including in Newtown, the chain’s first in Pennsylvania, established in 2017, writes Madeline Marriott for Newtown City Lifestyle.

Fitzgerald, a former pharmaceutical sales representative who left the workforce to spend time raising her three children, decided to open the Newtown store after discovering Nothing Bundt Cakes was expanding to the East Coast.

“It was a lot of work to get the store open – two years of business plans and showing them that we could be successful at this location,” she said.

Today, the Newtown store employs over 20 people and prepares all of its baked goods on-site. Fitzgerald remains hands-on in daily operations, often assisting the baking team during busy holiday seasons when demand surges. She embraces the motto “service above self,” a guiding principle of Newtown Rotary Club, where she is an active member.

“We give back immensely to the community, including assisting with fundraising, and I was always brought up that way,” she said. “I’ve had the opportunity to support a lot of different organizations and partner with food pantries, so there’s no waste in our bakery. Anything that we’re not able to sell, we donate.”
