Select Soccer Center in Horsham has launched an expansion project worth more than $10 million, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The 46,000-square-foot indoor soccer complex will build an 82,000-square-foot addition on a neighboring property while also expanding the parking lot.
“The purpose of the new building is competitions,” said Tristan Preece, Select Soccer’s general manager. “We want to run both adult and youth leagues and tournaments. Competitions will be the bread and butter of the space.”
Due to limited parking, Select Soccer currently does not have approval to host league play or tournaments. However, the expansion onto the adjacent four-acre property should provide ample parking to be able to lift the township’s restriction.
Select Soccer offers training for kids of all ages and skill levels, but adult leagues are expected to make up the majority of business in the new building.
“Adults are willing to play soccer indoors all year long,” said Preece. “With kids, it fluctuates more toward the winter months when they really want to be inside.”
The new addition is expected to open as soon as this November.
