Tucked away in Horsham, 4 Brothers Honey is doing more than bottling local honey — they’re rescuing honeybees, too, writes Leigh Green for PA Eats.
As a PA Preferred business, 4 Brothers Honey produces small-batch honey and bee-based goods. Products range from lip balm and candles to their popular propolis and honey throat spray. But what truly sets them apart is their unique service. The business removes and rehomes honeybee colonies that have taken up residence in homes and buildings across the region.
President Sarah Humes says the company grew from a blend of two passions — beekeeping and construction. “We married our longstanding construction company with our beekeeping passion,” she says. “We love that we can serve the community by removing honeybees from unwanted locations and successfully rehome them, which, in turn, allows us to provide the community with the wonderful products that honeybees produce.”
Their “micro-local” approach ensures each jar of honey is labeled by hive location — from town-specific batches to broader regional blends. It’s a sweet touch that’s resonating with allergy sufferers and honey lovers alike. Their hives are scattered across Southeastern Pennsylvania.
4 Brothers Honey reflects what’s best about Montco: innovation, care for the environment, and strong local roots.
Their raw honey harvest begins mid-June, but customers can find their full product line all year round.
