Norristown’s Quinn Sullivan, who is in his fifth season with Philadelphia Union, continues to carve out his own path within a family that has been deeply rooted in the region’s soccer community for generations, writes Kerith Gabriel for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
His youngest brother, Cavan, is the youngest pro in Major League Soccer history, while his other two brothers, Declan and Ronan, are currently playing for the Union’s youth team and are now on a path to the pros.
Sullivan, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise underwhelming season for the Union. Enjoying one of his best professional campaigns to date, he scored seven goals, recorded ten assists. This year, he signed a new contract, and has solidified his position as a starter under new manager Bradley Carnell.
“Quinn [has] got size, speed, [and] he’s got a really good shot on him,” said Carnell. “He can play interior between [the] lines. He can play on the outside as a winger. He has a lot of qualities, to be fair, and just complements a lot of what we’re trying to do.”
