Upper Providence Native Joshua Fleisher Talks Production of Latin Kings Gang Member Documentary

Upper Providence native Joshua Fleisher helps produce a documentary about former Latin Kings Gang member Krazy Kenny.

Upper Providence native Joshua Fleisher recently helped produce the documentary Touched by Darkness: The Life and Times of Krazy Kenny, writes Evan Brandt for Daily Local News.

The film focuses on Kenneth “Krazy Kenny” Steinberg the only Jewish member of the Latin Kings gang who had been serving an 86-year prison sentence before receiving a compassionate release.

Fleisher collaborated with director John Stefanic and cinematographer Zack Wilcox to create the documentary with Sternberg as the sole narrator.

One of Fleisher’s responsibilities was to manage reel in Steinberg and be a ‘manager of chaos’. Since Steinberg had spent so much time in prison, a lot of life on the outside was still new to him. “He asked me where we get coffee and I said ‘Starbucks’ and he said ‘What’s a Starbucks?” recalls Fleisher.

Stefanic originally met Sternberg while filming 12 Monkeys, and was captivated by his charisma. Stefanic filmed the documentary in his Scranton home, leaving Fleisher to transport Sternberg to the set from his home in Kensington.

The documentary has been available on Tubi since August and has received positive reviews.
