Adina Rowan Nelson continues to support her local community through the pantry You Are Worth It Community Outreach.

A Spring City family is continuing their community support work through their food and clothing pantry, You Are Worth It (YAWI) Community Outreach, writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.

Adina Rowan Nelson originally began the idea in 2018 at her home. Nelson provided over 1,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to her local community out of her own living room.

Spring City Regeneration Church learned about Nelson’s project and offered her space for the pantry, where YAWI now functions full-time. YAWI is open every Tuesday from 4 PM to 5:30 PM as a no-questions-asked food and clothing pantry.

After the passing of her husband in 2023, Nelson now runs the pantry with the help of her children and local volunteers.

You Are Worth It Community Outreach accepts donations from both individuals and organizations and is currently collecting donations for their Christmas wishlist through the company’s website.
