Penn Community Bank Matches $10,000 in Donations to Support Local Affordable Housing
Penn Community Bank recently completed a successful matched-giving campaign with Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties (HFHMDC), providing the organization with a total contribution of $18,359 to support affordable housing initiatives.
The bank’s contribution includes a $10,000 match to $8,359 raised during HFHMDC’s World Habitat Day Giving Week Campaign held earlier this fall. The combined funding will strengthen local efforts to provide affordable housing solutions in Montgomery County.
“At Penn Community Bank, we believe in creating meaningful impact in our communities through strategic partnerships,” said Bernard Tynes, Chief Experience and Impact Officer at Penn Community Bank. “Our collaboration with Habitat for Humanity advances our shared goal of expanding access to affordable housing and building stronger neighborhoods throughout our region.”
“Our mission aligns closely with the ‘economic self-sufficiency and opportunity’ pillar of the Penn Community Bank Foundation, providing access to safe and decent affordable homes in Montgomery County,” said Keith Sterling, Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties. “We are grateful for the support and look forward to deepening our relationship with Penn Community Bank in the future.”
HFHMDC has served the community for over 35 years, providing 108 affordable mortgages since its founding in 1989, with four more homes scheduled for completion by year’s end. The organization has also completed critical health, safety, and accessibility repairs for nearly 200 owner-occupied households while working to revitalize neighborhoods and stimulate economic growth.
