After much anticipation, Rooster's Glenside will have its grand opening this Friday in the space of the old Keswick Tavern.

Rooster’s Glenside will officially open on Friday, replacing the beloved Keswick Tavern, reports Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.

“We can’t wait to welcome you and show you the fantastic food, drinks, and vibes we’ve been creating,” Rooster’s shared on Facebook, expressing their team’s dedication to top-notch service.

The new venture is spearheaded by Glenside native Matt Moyer, known for Stove and Tap, Al Pastor, Joey Chops, and Good Bad & Ugly. Alongside Moyer is Chris Magarity of Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken, Justin Weathers, and Joe Monnich. The name honors Moyer’s father, Danny “Rooster” Moyer, a cherished community figure, known for his red hair, who recently passed away.

The classic American pub aims to deliver elevated food, drinks, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere that makes locals feel at home.

Located at 294 N. Keswick Ave., the 3,000-square-foot space features 40 bar seats, 90 dining seats, and 44 outdoor seats. Rooster’s will be open seven days a week, offering lunch, brunch, dinner, happy hour, and late-night services. The menu boasts upscale pub fare including a raw bar, burgers, wings, sandwiches, salads, seasonal entrees, and more.

Keswick Tavern, which closed in April with an “End of Era” celebration, leaves behind years of memories. Rooster’s aims to bring fresh energy while paying tribute to the community’s legacy.
