The North Penn School District has been awarded $575,000 in state funding for HVAC system upgrades at Penndale Middle School, writes Justin Heinze for the Patch.

The grant is part of the $2.5 million awarded to North Penn and Souderton Area School District through the Public School Facility Improvement Grant program.

“These grants are an important step toward creating modern classrooms where students can focus on learning and teachers can focus on teaching,” said State Rep. Steve Malagari. “By investing in energy-efficient upgrades, we enhance the daily experience in our schools and ensure that our facilities are built for long-term sustainability. I’m proud to see these funds making a real difference in our local schools.”

The awards were announced by Malagari and State Sen. Maria Collett.

Thanks to this grant, Penndale Middle School will receive two new boilers. It also affords them an upgrade to its air conditioning system. The building currently has only one working boiler, which leaves it at risk of losing its heating ability altogether.
