CCRES announced that Mia Fragale, who attended school at the TCHS Pennock’s Bridge campus, is the recipient of its Dr. Michael J. Kelly Pathways Scholarships Program.

Mia Fragale has overcome personal struggles and the injury of family member which significantly impacted their lives. She has worked hard to overcome those challenges and is currently attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Mia was nominated by her teacher, Jessica Amarant.

“Throughout her time in the Gateway program, Mia has displayed incredible resilience. Her strength, poise, and dedication are admirable and hard-won,” Amarant said. “She has demonstrated diligence in her studies, compassion in her interactions with others, and courage in her journey towards growth. As Gateway staff, we have had the privilege to witness Mia’s path, and we believe she is deserving of this support as she pursues higher education.”

The scholarship program was created in 2023, awarding grants to qualifying students, enabling them to attend post-secondary educational institutions, including career and technical schools.

While the awards can apply to traditional colleges and universities, they also can fund attendance at trade schools such as licensed practical nursing, cosmetology, construction and technology programs.

Awards can also pay for certification exams, special fees or tools and equipment associated with a student’s course work or academic program.
