Fox 29’s Bob Kelly recently visited The Phil’s Tavern in Blue Bell and tried the popular Surf-n-Turf Burger, a burger topped with a crab cake and lobster.
The Phil’s Tavern which has been a part of the community for 39 years, is known for its large portions and its family-friendly atmosphere.
Charles Compagnucci, owner of The Phil’s Tavern, said they live by their motto, “Good Food, Good, Drink and Good Friends.”
He added, “People come in and everyone knows everybody. It’s like a family.”
The Phils Tavern stayed open during COVID despite all the challenges because of the support of employees and customers, Compagnucci said.
“It was tough, but our employees stayed with us, they worked with us, and our customers kept us open. They all made a point to order takeout.”
The Phil’s Tavern is a customer of Firstrust Bank. Seth Mackler of Firstrust said that the bank is a family-owned business that supports other family-owned businesses like The Phil’s Tavern.
