12 Montgomery County Towns Are Among 100 Safest Places to Live; One Town Reports Zero Violent Crimes
Twelve Montgomery County cities ranked among the 100 safest places to live in Pennsylvania in 2022, according to a list recently published by ElitePersonalFinance.
To determine which places in Pennsylvania are safest, ElitePersonalFinance extracted the latest available data from the FBI crime statistics in the United States, taking violent crime as the main factor.
Cities with under 5,000 residents or those that did not report crimes to the FBI were not included on the list.
Collegeville ranked highest in second place. The town with a 5,134 population had no crimes. Next is New Hanover Township with a population of 13,201 in No. 20 with two crimes.
Franconia Township came at No. 38 with three total crimes, followed by Lower Gwynedd Township in No. 47. The town also recorded three total violent crimes.
Right behind are Horsham Township and Montgomery Township in No. 48 and No. 49, respectively, both with seven recorded crimes.
Also included in the list are Lower Moreland Township in No. 56, Whitpain Township in No. 61, Limerick Township in No. 89, Upper Providence Township in No. 92, Lower Salford Township in No. 93, and Whitemarsh Township at No. 100.
