World renowned magician, Mark Desouza is bringing magic to Glenside by opening the House of Magic in the former PNC bank.

The former PNC Bank building at 101 S Easton Road is being transformed into Glenside’s first magic theater, aptly named “The House of Magic,” reports Ryan Genova for Glenside Local.

Helmed by award-winning magician Marc Desouza, the renovation will introduce a space with a 100-seat theater, a 25-seat mini theater. There will also be a “secret room,” and a VIP lounge on the main floor. The basement will house a 4,500 sq. ft. magic museum and library, ideal for events and parties accommodating up to 80 guests.

Significantly, the once-bank vault will become the “Vault of Secrets,” reimagined for magic performances. Desouza plans to introduce an educational program in collaboration with Arcadia University, offering a platform for burgeoning magicians and enthusiasts.

Desouza plans for a partial opening by February of next year, pending renovations, with full access projected for spring.

With the support of the local community, including longtime friends and business colleagues like Jay Howard, the venue is set to become a central hub for magic enthusiasts. Desouza’s vision aligns with Glenside’s ethos, as he asserts. “We’re looking to partner with the local community. It’s going to augment everything that Glenside is. It’s going to benefit business owners as well as provide good clean entertainment,” Desouza said.
