Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for the following positions: Operations Manager of the Montco Cultural Center, Reading Faculty (part-time applicant pool), and Custodial Supervisor.
Operations Manager of the Montco Cultural Center
Reporting to the Director of the Montco Cultural Center, the Operations Manager of the Montco Cultural Center works collaboratively with the Montco Cultural Center team to provide leadership to major College events as well as a broad range of project management functions for programming. The Administrative Director plans, manages, executes, and evaluates marquee College events sponsored by the Office of the President and provides oversight to operational aspects for the Montco Cultural Center, including financial operations and facilities use. This is a college-wide position, working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders with some night and weekend hours required.
This position requires the new hire to submit the Child Abuse Clearance, the PA State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources before their first day of employment.
This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two to four years of related experience in event management and/or project management.
- Advanced technology skills in Microsoft Office, calendaring and ticketing systems, financial
management platforms, and presentation programs. - Demonstrated ability to manage and meet multiple and constantly challenging deadlines.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision and the ambiguity of an everchanging set of daily and weekly priorities.
- Knowledge of crowd management, crowd safety protocols, and security and emergency procedures related to small, medium, and large-scale gatherings.
- Skill in effectively meeting budget and time constraints.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Exemplary customer service skills and mindset.
- Assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands in a team environment and independently.

Reading Faculty (Part-Time Applicant Pool)
The Reading Faculty position teaches assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Part-time faculty are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. Teaching hours are during the day between 8:00 AM-3:00 PM.
This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Master’s degree, or its equivalent, in Reading or Education with a Reading concentration/certification from an accredited institution is required.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Community college teaching experience preferred.
- Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
- Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and the use of course management systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning styles.

Custodial Supervisor
Reporting to the Manager of Warehouse and Custodial Services, the Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the cleaning, sanitizing and related aesthetics for College buildings and related properties or interests. This position executes directives from the manager for the setup and breakdown of classes, activities, meetings and special events, including facility use to outside organizations. Other responsibilities include assisting College personnel by providing logistics for event setups and guidance on the availability of staff and accessories; supporting College functions at all College locations with regard to climate neutrality, as a matter of conscience; and overseeing special projects, as assigned by College leadership as they relate to items, such as recycling, or disposal of non-typical waste. With the Manager, the Custodial Supervisor adjusts the schedule to provide the necessary leadership to all staff on all shifts (the custodial operation is a 24-hour/360-day operation) and schedules and supervises staff seven days per week, and all hours. This position functions as a working supervisor.
This position has College-wide responsibilities that require travel between campuses and to offsite locations. The primary office location is the Blue Bell campus. This position requires the selected candidate to submit the Child Abuse Clearance, the PA State Police Check, and the FBI Fingerprint check to HR prior to the first day of employment. This position requires a drug screening as part of the employment process.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required: Associate degree preferred.
- Two to four years’ experience in building cleaning/maintenance: at least one year of which was in a custodial supervisory capacity, including planning & scheduling of work.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must be willing to travel between campuses as well as work nights, weekends, and holidays based on College need. This includes weather emergencies, utility failures, or hazards to life or property.
- Must work with the Manager, Assistant Director, and Director to restore campus from hazard or failure in the safest, most expeditious manner possible.
