Upper Gwynedd Police asked the public for help in identifying the bird’s owner after spotting the flightless feathered fugitive around 10:15 a.m. on Washington Avenue.

The police department turned to social media, sharing a post that humorously acknowledged the odd situation: “Alright so, this is probably the most unique post we’ve had to make but, do you recognize this lost emu/ostrich?” they wrote on Facebook.

Thankfully, the excitement didn’t last long. By 11:15 a.m., just an hour after the emu was first reported, the police had located its owner and safely returned the bird to its home.

What could have been a chaotic morning in North Wales turned out to be a quirky adventure, providing locals with a good laugh. Upper Gwynedd Police can now add “emu wrangling” to their list of unique achievements!
