The Upper Merion Police Department recently celebrated the almost 30-year career of Lieutenant Al Elverson, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.

He was a patrol officer for the police department, protecting and serving the community since 1995. Prior to that he served with the Upper Gwynedd Police Department.

“We wish Al the best of luck in his new career and thank him for his 28 years of dedicated and professional service to the residents of Upper Merion Township,” the department said.

He officially retired on Tuesday, September 19.
