Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for the Director of Physical Therapist Assistant Program, Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology, Part-Time Resource Coach (temporary, grant-funded), and Maintenance Mechanic (second shift).

Director of Physical Therapist Assistant Program

This position reports to the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Part-time Faculty teach assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material and are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. This role is responsible for the leadership, management, supervision, and evaluation of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program, its instructional curriculum, and services.

Working closely with the Dean of Health Sciences and the PTA Director of Clinical Education, this role is responsible for the innovative leadership, continuous review, planning, development, and effectiveness of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program through the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapist Education (CAPTE) accreditation process.

This position requires the new hire to submit the Child Abuse Clearance, the PA State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources before their first day of employment. 

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Doctoral degree (preferred).
  • Two years of recent clinical instructor experience (preferred).
  • Experience in seeking and maintaining CAPTE accreditation (preferred).
  • Active in professional activities at the local, state, and national levels (preferred).
  • Community college teaching experience (preferred).
  • Master’s degree in a directly relevant discipline.
  • Hold an active, unrestricted PT license or PTA license/certification in any United States jurisdiction and a license in good standing as a Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania.
  • Five years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Three years of teaching experience in a variety of relevant Physical Therapist Assistant areas within any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation, and outcome assessment, including the equivalent of nine credits of coursework in educational foundations or previous CAPTE-granted exemption.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning in and out of the classroom/clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience including program planning, personnel management, and fiscal management.

Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology

The Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology will work to sustain, develop, and grow programming, including non-credit courses, certificates, contract training with industry partners, and apprenticeship models that will allow students to earn and learn as they enter the information technology field. Guided by labor market intelligence and with the input of industry advisors, the Director will work collaboratively with workforce colleagues, and other college administrators and faculty to continue to build industry-relevant learning paths for students and content for industry partners. They will
be responsible for planning, developing, supervising, and evaluating workforce information technology programs.

This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and offsite locations. The location will mainly be at the Blue Bell campus. This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Master’s Degree with at least two years of work experience and at least one computer
    industry certification.
  • Knowledge of CISCO Networking Academy required.
  • Three years or more years of experience in an academic environment in program
    management.
  • Current technical knowledge in programming, networking, web development, cloud
    computing, operating systems, databases, cyber security, etc.
  • Experience in teaching IT courses preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development, educational methodologies, and assessment
    preferred.
  • Demonstrated administrative, problem-solving, team, and organizational skills.
  • Proven skills in handling detailed tasks and multiple assignments.
  • Established interpersonal and communication skills.

Part-Time Resource Coach (Temporary, Grant-Funded)

The Part-Time Resource Coach is to build upon the work of the Student Wellness Inclusion Model. This position will engage with students on a daily basis; identify barriers to student retention and completion, both personal and academic; propose
solutions; and help students access the appropriate campus and community resources to support student retention.

The Part-time Resource Coach is responsible for providing holistic case management services and intensive and targeted support in support of the College’s efforts to increase student persistence, retention, and completion. This position is responsible for promoting student wellness, using a coaching approach to assist students through in-person meetings, emails, texts, phone calls, and video chats. This role also facilitates informational sessions and workshops for students as well as faculty and staff about available college and community resources. This role will help to facilitate peer support groups within the Wellness Center.

Delivering a program that responds to the College’s guiding belief that every student can receive what they need to be successful, the Part-time Resource Coach reduces barriers for students who are seeking and participating in services that promote their mental and physical wellness.

This is a part-time, non-exempt 25-hour/week position. This is a College-wide position, working out of both the Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses, and must be available to work day and some evening and weekend hours when needed. This position is contingent upon grant funding with an expected end date of May 2025. This position requires the new hire to submit the child abuse clearance, the PA State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources prior to their first day of employment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • At least two years of case management experience.
  • Strong youth engagement and positive youth development skills.
  • Experience working with data management tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with students, administration, faculty and
    the community at large.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word,
    and Outlook.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory issues including HIPAA and FERPA.
  • Highly motivated to help students succeed.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to be optimistic, positive, and supportive in interactions with others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as underresourced groups and first-generation students.

Maintenance Mechanic – Second Shift

The basic purpose of this position is to inspect, maintain, and repair essential equipment in and around campus and will assist the carpenter, electrician, and HVAC team, as needed. This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test as a condition of employment.

  • A high school diploma, GED, and one to two years of work-related experience is required.
