CHDC celebrates National Health Center Week and invites the community to celebrate accessible, high-quality healthcare.

Community Health & Dental Care, Inc. (CHDC) is celeberating National Health Center Week (NHCW) Aug. 4-10. National Health Center Week is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades and for the #Next50Years.

The national theme for 2024 is Powering Communities Through Caring Connections. Each day of National Health Center Week is dedicated to a particular area of focus. Throughout the week of Aug. 4, CHDC will showcase how it provides high-quality health care, improves health outcomes, and narrows health disparities.

CHDC invites the community to celebrate the work that goes into providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to the tri-county area. The weeklong celebration will culminate with an invitation to the tri-county community to attend the CHDC Health Fair on Friday, Aug. 9 at its Coventry Mall location (351 W. Schuylkill Road, Pottstown) from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM (rain or shine).

People of all ages are invited to join CHDC and over 30 community partner organizations and agencies for a funfilled afternoon with health information, a diverse array of community resources, giveaways, activities for kids and
adults, refreshments (including free flavored ice treats from Tropical Sno), free health screenings for blood pressure,
backpack giveaways for kids heading back to school, and more.

For the backpack giveaway, 100 backpacks filled with back-to-school supplies will be offered to any student under age 18 who needs a backpack to start the school year. Be sure to stop by early if you need a backpack.

“National Health Center Week is a wonderful time to celebrate all the great work that Community Health Centers
like CHDC have accomplished,” said Kirsten Groff, CHDC Marketing and Events Director. “It has been incredible to watch our week-long celebration and health fair grow throughout the years, and we are looking forward to another successful NHCW! I love getting to watch our staff, patients, stakeholders, and community members come together throughout the week. Whether you are a longtime CHDC patient or have never visited a Community Health Center before, we encourage you to visit our Health Fair on Aug. 9 and learn more about the programs and affordable access to health services we have to offer.”

Everyone who attends the Health Fair will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win the CHDC Health Fair basket
filled with health goodies and cash prizes. Attendees will also have an opportunity to earn additional raffle tickets by
participating in various tables and/or activities as well as get an extra free raffle ticket by bringing an item to benefit the
Street Medicine Program. For more information about National Health Center Week events at CHDC and requested
