For these Mongomery County natives, following Bruce Springsteen is a family tradition, reports Rosa Cartagena for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Bruce Springsteen performed at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night, and intergenerational superfans from all over flocked to South Philly to see him. With Bruce in town, Montco fans recall what the Boss means to their families.

John Delucca of North Wales took his daughter Jackie to her first concert when she was 14 years old. They’ve seen the Boss 28 times since then, including a trip to Scotland.

“I have never seen a Bruce show without him,” Jackie said of her father.

Jackie missed what would have been her 30th concert due to morning sickness, but is already imparting the fandom to her newborn daughter. They listened to Bruce on the way home from the hospital.

Superfans Peggie Stohler and her daughters, Maggie, Caroline, and Annie of Dresher catch Springsteen as a family in honor of their late husband and father, Rich.

“Dad is the reason why we love him. Dad was a massive Bruce Springsteen fan,” Maggie said of her father, who died of a heart attack in 2014.

Caroline even wrote to Bruce to thank him for being such a big part of her dad’s life. She remembers leaving a concert on her dad’s shoulders as Springsteen waved to them with his head out of a window.
