This Montgomery County Town is Considered the Best Place for Families to Live
Fortune Magazine has named Upper Merion Township, as one of the top 50 “best places for families to live,” securing the No. 2 spot, writes Cherise Lynch for NBC 10 Philadelphia.
Editor-in-chief Alyson Shontell revealed the rankings on the Today Show, emphasizing criteria like affordability, commutability, and family-friendliness.
Upper Merion’s proximity to Philadelphia, just 16 miles away, offers a blend of urban and suburban living.
The township is celebrated for its Valley Forge National Historical Park, featuring 3,500 acres of trails, and a robust Parks and Recreation program for kids.
Additionally, the nearby Elmwood Park Zoo and the King of Prussia Mall, the largest in the U.S. by retail square footage, with over 450 stores, add to Upper Merion’s appeal.
Silver Spring, Maryland, claimed the top spot, followed by Chantilly, Virginia; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Mason, Ohio.
