Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for Coordinator of Student Services, Education Faculty (part-time applicant pool), and Early Childhood Education Faculty (part-time applicant pool).

Coordinator of Student Services

The Coordinator of Student Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Welcome Desks, One-Stop, and Student Services Resource Center (SSRC). This position also provides backup coverage to Student Services areas as needed and works collaboratively with other departments to ensure student success. This position has the responsibility to develop and coordinate a comprehensive, college-wide approach to addressing the needs of students to strengthen enrollment and registration, improve retention, and increase academic success. This position includes evening administrative coverage responsibilities for the Enrollment Services Area. The Coordinator of Student Services is an integral member of the Student Services team in support of MCCC’s mission of student access, retention, and completion.

This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations, with the primary office location at the Blue Bell Campus. Saturdays and evenings are required as needed, but especially during peak
registration times. This position requires the PA Child AbusePA State Police, and FBI Fingerprint clearances and has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years of higher education experience (community college experience preferred).
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Two years of processing experience with system optimization work is preferred.
  • Understanding of community college philosophy, practice, and population.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; highly organized.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with records/registration systems (Colleague preferred).
  • Customer service experience.

Education Faculty (Part-Time Applicant Pool)

The Education Faculty teach assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Part-Time faculty are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. This position reports to the Dean of Business and Professional Studies.

MCCC is seeking an immediate hire for the teaching of daytime classes. This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprint clearances prior to the start date.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Master’s degree/and or doctorate in Education from an accredited institution is required. Degrees and/or certifications must reflect the specialty area(s) required to teach specific course(s) (if applicable).
  • Previous teaching experience in an early childhood setting, elementary school, middle school, and/or high school is required. Classroom teaching experience must reflect the specialty area(s) required to teach specific course(s) (if applicable).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Community college teaching experience preferred.
  • Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and the use of course management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning styles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the incorporation of information literacy resources, technology, research, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of competency-based education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continual assessment of the teaching-learning process.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.

Early Childhood Education Faculty (Part-Time Applicant Pool)

The Early Childhood Education Faculty position will teach (a) specific Early Childhood course(s), focusing on children ages birth to fourth grade, and will do so in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. This Faculty Member is encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development and reports to the Dean of Business and Professional Studies.

This position has an immediate need and will be teaching by mid-August. These college classes will be taught during the daytime hours (not evening courses) and are located at both campuses (Blue Bell and Pottstown). This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date.
