Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for the Medical Laboratory Technician Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool) position and the Psychology Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool) position.

Medical Laboratory Technician Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool)

The Medical Laboratory Technician Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool) will teach assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Part-Time Faculty are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. The Medical Laboratory Technician Faculty member reports to the MLT Coordinator/Program Director.
This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprint clearances prior to the start date.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences, Health
    Sciences or Biology from an accredited institution is required. Master’s degree
    preferred.
  • National Certification as MLS/MT required.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Community College
    teaching experience preferred.
  • Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Recent work experience (within the last five years) in Hematology and/or Blood
    Bank within a clinical laboratory environment is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and
    technologies and use of course management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to
    address diverse learning styles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the incorporation of information literacy resources,
    technology, research, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into the
    curriculum.
  • Knowledge of competency-based education preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continual assessment of the teaching-learning
    process.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as underresourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community
    college philosophy.

Psychology Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool)

The Psychology Faculty position teaches assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Faculty also participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development.

This position reports to the Dean of Social Sciences, and the position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to the start date.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited institution is required; a doctorate is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Community College teaching experience
    preferred.
  • Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and
    use of course management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning
    styles.
