
Montgomery County continues to be a premier destination to host sports tournaments and the Valley Forge Sports team of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board is proving just that.
The team is thrilled to be hosting 12 events this month, with a total of seven different sports and five events new to the area. June will see more than 15,000+ room nights sold and an estimated $18 million in economic impact.
The YMCA National Gymnastics Championship & Invitational, happening Jun. 20-24, will be the largest indoor event ever held in Montgomery County, with over 2,500 gymnasts traveling to the area from all over the U.S. This new-to-the-area event is estimated to bring in more than 8,000 room nights.
“The 2024 YMCA National Gymnastics Championships & Invitational is not just an event; it’s a culmination of hard work, dedication, and the spirit of community,” said Mubarak “Mo” Simmons, Gymnastics Director at Willow Grove YMCA. “This championship will spotlight the incredible talents of young gymnasts from across the nation. Hosting this significant event in Montgomery County and working alongside Valley Forge Sports has been a remarkable experience. Their support has been instrumental in bringing this event to life, and we are thrilled to showcase the athletic excellence and supportive community that defines the YMCA in such a dynamic setting.”

Jun. 1-2: Big Shots Philly had a successful weekend at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center with 1,500 room nights.
Jun. 8-9: NXT All-American LAX and KickIt 3v3 Soccer Tournament took place at Proving Grounds in Conshohocken and West-Mont Soccer Complex. The total room nights for the weekend was over 800.
Jun. 11-15: USA Wrestling 14U Duals will be returning to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, with an estimated 2,035 room nights. Valley Forge Sports is no stranger to USA Wrestling events, having hosted the 2022 Junior Duals and the 2023 14U Duals.
Jun. 15-16: NXT Sports the Trident and Premier Lacrosse League Philly Waterdogs Home Games will be occurring at the Proving Grounds and Villanova with a combined 1,008 room nights.
Jun. 20-24: As previously mentioned, YMCA National Gymnastics will be hosting their Championship & Invitational in Oaks with an estimated 8,000 room nights. Pottstown Rumble and NXT Boys Game Day Invitational will also be in town that weekend, with a further 3,300 estimated room nights combined. This brings the total number of room nights to over 11,000 all in one weekend. Pottstown Rumble is in its 33rd year and is the largest grass doubles volleyball tournament in the world.
Jun. 24-28: At the end of June, three events will be happening: Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Clinic, NXT Lax Mid-Summer Championships, and TooManyGames, for a total of 1,900 room nights. TooManyGames has been held in Montgomery County since 1994, making this their 20th anniversary in the area.
