King of Prussia’s Ives Equipment Corp has been acquired by a Pittsburgh-area firm Motion & Control Enterprises.

King of Prussia’s Ives Equipment Corp has been acquired by a Pittsburgh-area firm, writes Patty Tascarella for the Philadelphia Business Journal.  

This acquisition marks the firm, Motion & Control Enterprises’, fourth purchase this year, furthering its aggressive expansion strategy. 

Founded in 1954, Ives Equipment is a distributor of process valves and instrumentation products, serving various markets including industrial gas, federal and defense, and pharma and biotech across eastern and central Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, southern New Jersey, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. 

 Despite the acquisition, Ives will continue to operate under its name with Terry Ives remaining in leadership, ensuring growth and stability for its stakeholders. 

MCE, established in 1951 and headquartered in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, supplies technical fluid power, automation, flow control, compressed air products, and more.  

Since its acquisition by Chicago private equity firm Frontenac in 2018, MCE has expanded significantly, acquiring 12 companies since early 2023.
