Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing in Bala Cynwyd is home to a new, 12,000-square-foot event venue with a food program from acclaimed chef Nick Elmi, writes Ariana Perez-Castells for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Pump House is the latest project from Elmi, restaurateur and designer Fia Berisha, and cofounder of Penn Group Donna Galvin.

Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing is already home to two food establishments from Elmi and Berisha, restaurant Lark and cafe The Landing Kitchen. The pair believe it made sense to open a separate venue for different events since Lark has already been hosting many of them.

“We’ve done a tremendous amount of smaller events and weddings and [bar/bat] mitzvahs over the past couple of years,” said Elmi. “A lot of times when we do that we do have to shut down Lark, which we’re really happy to do, but we also don’t want to displace our neighborhood customers.”

The Pump House includes a 4,500-square-foot main hall that can accommodate up to 225 people seated, a cocktail reception of up to 125 people, along with a belowground bar that can host up to 60 guests.
