It’s a prom for everyone at Steel River Playhouse (245 E. High Street, Pottstown).

A small-town girl wants to take her girlfriend to the prom, and when the event is canceled, that doesn’t stop a group of Broadway stars from coming to their rescue.

With catchy music and dazzling dance numbers, The Prom is a heartwarming story that celebrates inclusion and acceptance. Don’t miss out on the show that has won the hearts of Broadway audiences and critics alike.

The Prom’s book is by Bob Martin and Chad Beugelin, the lyrics by Beugelin, and music by Matthew Sklar. David Williams directs, with music direction by Jake Leonowitz and choreography by Amanda Morrell.

“The Prom is an important story because at its root it is a matter of civil rights,” said Williams. “It’s a reminder that every person has the right to celebrate and love who they love out loud. You will laugh, you will cry, and hopefully, you will be inspired by this story of acceptance.”

The Prom will run from May 25-Jun. 9. Performances will be at 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, and 2:00 PM on Sundays. There will be a relaxed performance at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Jun. 1. The Steel River Playhouse invites individuals with ADD, ADHD, Dementia, Autism, sensory sensitivities, or any patron who would enjoy a performance where they can freely express themselves.

The running time for this two-act show is approximately two hours and 30 minutes with one intermission. Tickets are $29 for adults, $24 for Seniors (65+), and $17 for Students. You can choose your seats and buy tickets online or contact the Box Office at 610-970-1199. The opening night sponsor is Ferrari Enterprises, LLC.
