Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft in Ardmore has one of the best burgers in the Philadelphia region.

The Philadelphia region has many great burgers, and one of the 20 best ones to eat right now is served by a Montgomery County eatery, write Craig LaBan, Michael Klein, and Henry Savage for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft in Ardmore serves a delicious double-patty burger made by chef/co-owner Biff Gottehrer.

For the local favorite, Gottehrer stacks two quarter-pounders with extra fat content, highlighted by dry-aged beefy zing between layers of melted Gouda, house-pickled onions, and a special sauce. The bun is also soft without being eggy.

The burger gets its extra oomph from two thin pads of fried Lebanon bologna between the patties, giving it a smoky sweetness.
