Schuylkill River Trail, which runs for over 75 miles mostly along the Schuylkill River, is one of the six great bike trails in Eastern Pennsylvania.

The eastern part of the state features several great bike trails that are suitable for all skill levels, including one that Montgomery County residents can enjoy every day, writes Kalena Thomhave for The Keystone.

In fact, the Schuylkill River Trail is one of the six great bike trails in Eastern Pennsylvania.

It is the result of an ambitious project to link Philadelphia with Schuylkill County, mostly along the Schuylkill River. While it is not yet complete, there are over 75 miles of the trail currently open to the public.

The trail allows cyclists to traverse the southeastern Pennsylvania region while enjoying the chance to take in the beautiful scenery and the historical importance of the area.

Depending on which direction you take, you can enjoy some great urban views near Center City or go through Wissahickon Valley Park, which offers a completely different surrounding. This part of the trail includes Forbidden Drive, which was converted from an old turnpike.
