When Chip and Courtney Hardie first saw the white brick colonial home in Elkins Park ten years ago, they knew it was the place they wanted to raise a family, even though it needed some work, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
They made many improvements to the four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home over the next decade, but now have decided it is time to move back closer to their original home and family in Maryland.
The lovely house is set on an elaborately landscaped half-acre lot with gorgeous trees.
“The heart of the home is the gourmet kitchen,” said Courtney, “with a breakfast bar, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances.”
An expanded rear addition is currently used as a dining room, while the original dining room was converted into an office.
The primary suite and two more bedrooms are on the second floor, while the third floor features another bedroom with a bath.
The basement offers many entertainment options, including a billiard room with an antique pool table.
Outside is just as impressive with its bluestone walkway, flagstone patio, covered side porch, as well as a fire pit.
The home is listed for $695,000 by Jeff Chirico of EXP Realty.
