Pennsylvania Has Two ‘Million-dollar’ Neighborhoods, Both in Montgomery County
For the first time, Pennsylvania has “million-dollar” neighborhoods, which are communities where the typical home is worth $1 million or more, writes Michaelle Bond for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
According to a new Zillow analysis, the Keystone State now has two such neighborhoods, and both are in Montgomery County.
Gladwyne and Villanova found their spot on the list of places where a typical home was worth $1 million
or more in February.
To compile the list, Zillow calculated the average value of the middle third of homes in the region.
Pennsylvania’s new additions to the million-dollar club put the state at No. 23. The typical home value in Villanova is $1,303,058. Meanwhile, Gladwyne has a typical home value of $1,371,596.
In both communities, “you have some majorly expensive properties” and significant estates, said Jennifer LeBow, a real estate agent in Compass’ Main Line office.
She added that she has not noticed anything happening in either town recently that would explain the rise in their typical home values.
“I think it’s just the general increase in prices” across the board, she said.
