After renovating a classic stucco Colonial home in Bala Cynwyd, Paul and Lauren Lipowicz got antsy, and ventured out into Penn Valley for their next home-spiration, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

In 2014, the pair found a home with a modern exterior, but its inside needed a bit more love. The rickety staircase was a concern considering the couple’s daughters were both toddlers at the time.

However, they ultimately decided to take the plunge because as a contemporary house on a flat lot, it was a rare find.

A year replacing the HVAC, plumping, windows, insulation and the electrical systems resulted in a four bedroom three-and-a-half-bathroom house.

The 4,100 square foot abode includes an enclosed sunroom, open floor plan kitchen with a 5-by-11-foot island, attached garage, and outdoor pool, which can be seen from the enclosed sunroom’s floor to ceiling windows.

Bryn Mawr’s Brittany and Benjamin Hakimfar from Far Studio helped with the décor, giving it an eclectic feel with select vintage pieces.

The family values their time on the couch watching TV with their dog Nellie.
