Dischell Bartle Dooley is welcoming Katie Lin Daly as the firm’s newest attorney. Daly, who brings a client-centered approach to family law, shared insights into her journey and her excitement about this new chapter.

Starting her career as a paralegal, Daly made a conscious decision to pivot from a traditional four-year college to pursue paralegal studies at a community college. Her drive stemmed from a desire to engage deeply with the legal field without the uncertainty that came with a broader, less focused degree.

Her first encounter with the law came through an internship with a criminal defense attorney. However, her foray into family law took a more untraditional path. Daly had initial reservations about it because, from the outside, it seemed overly dramatic.

But Daly’s perspective shifted as she delved deeper into the practice. She found that family law’s emotional and dramatic aspects diminished over time, allowing her to focus on genuinely helping people navigate one of their life’s most challenging periods.

Daly spent five years as a paralegal before completing her bachelor’s degree, attending law school and graduated during the pandemic.

Her choice to specialize in family law was driven by the creativity and personal impact she could bring to her clients’ cases, particularly in crafting custody schedules and asset distribution agreements that reflect the needs and desires of all parties involved.

Daly expressed her enthusiasm for learning and growing beyond her previous experiences in Bucks County.

“I’m really excited to be primarily practicing in Montgomery County,” she said.

Daly is particularly thrilled about mentoring opportunities with seasoned practitioners like Mark Dischell and Liz Billies, hoping to expand her knowledge base and practice without stagnation.

Daly is dedicated to guiding families through the restructuring process during times of conflict and change, ensuring they make informed decisions that align with their unique situations. Her commitment to her clients and field is evident in her professional endeavors and community work, including her role as the Secretary of the Montgomery County Public Defender Advisory Board and her pro bono work in PFA defense.

With her admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2021 and a solid educational background from Rutgers Law School and Temple University, Daly is poised to make a significant impact at Dischell Bartle Dooley and in the lives of those she represents.
