The community rallied when it heard that the Ardmore Food Pantry was running low on food for those in need.

After demand nearly doubled, the Ardmore Food Pantry had to put out a call for help through its social
media two weeks ago, writes Jennifer Joyce for FOX 29 Philadelphia.

The Ardmore community immediately rallied to help, and within a few days, there were tables filled with canned
and fresh food available to distribute to a growing number of people in need.

“It’s an amazing community,” said Beth Tiewater, manager of the Ardmore Food Pantry. “We would not
exist without this community.”

Since inflation has increased so has the number of people in need in the area. Today, the Ardmore Food
Pantry serves around 150 people every week.

Local businesses step up each week by donating food and even flowers to help the pantry’s clients feel
like they’re shopping in a supermarket

However, even with all this help, the pantry is still running low on canned tuna, granola bars, and
feminine hygiene products.

“Sadly, we’ve seen a big increase in young families,” said Tiewater. “Traditionally, food pantries are
serving the elderly. I’m a parent and to think to not be able to feed your kids, that’s a really scary thing.”
