At Plymouth Meeting Friends School, Learning Fourth-Grade Math Takes a Circus
When Will Starr, a teacher at Plymouth Meeting Friends, decided to write a math book, he started on an unusual journey that has culminated in putting on an annual circus with his fourth-grade students, writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.
Starr explained that when he was writing the book, he decided to make the circus a theme since he has some skills in that area.
The next logical step he said was to actually perform a circus.
“In writing it, I realized if we’re going to write a book about circus, we need to do a circus,” Starr, who has been teaching at the school for 37 years, said.
This year is his 21st annual show.
It will take place Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Steinbright Auditorium at Plymouth Meeting Friends School.
