Here’s Pennsylvania’s 10 Richest Counties. See If Montgomery County Made the List

It may surprise you to learn that the Philadelphia Region is home to some of the wealthiest counties in the state, according to Lindsay Smith for the Centre Daily Times.

With a median income of $99,361, Montgomery County is the third wealthiest county in Pennsylvania. Chester County came in at No. 1 with a median income of $109,969. Bucks County took the No. 2 spot on the list.

The ranking was determined by tech company SmartAsset using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Internal Revenue Service, and the real estate site Zillow.

The company calculated that the investment income in Montgomery County is $71,283 and the median home value is $434,099.

Delaware County was ranked No. 4 with a median income of $80,398, an investment income of $54,132 and a median home value of $320,109.

Other counties that made the top ten include Centre County, Northampton, Butler, Lancaster, Cumberland and Lehigh counties.
