Spring is in the air, and it is time to plan your upcoming Easter celebrations.

In Montgomery County, Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board has plenty of recommendations, from egg hunts to brunch festivities and family photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

Here’s a look at some festive celebrations taking place around Montgomery County this Spring.

Easter Egg Hunts and Easter Bunny Sightings

Climb aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad for the annual Easter Eggs-Spress Excursion. This scenic, one-hour ride concludes with visiting the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg hunt at the Boyertown Station. In addition to Easter-themed coloring books, families traveling in the First Class Parlor and First Class Lounge can enjoy an Easter-themed dessert and complimentary beverage. A light fare à la carte menu will be provided in the dining car and deluxe coach cars for purchase.

While you’re out shopping, don’t miss visiting the Easter Bunny at The Plaza at the King of Prussia Mall from Mar. 1-Mar. 30. With festive backdrops and professional photographers on hand, gather your family and strike a pose. Located near the Crosswalk entrance by Morgan’s Brooklyn BBQ, walk-ups are welcome; however, reservations are also available for your little ones to meet the Easter Bunny.

Easter Brunch

This Spring, it is all aboard for the Colebrookdale Railroad Easter Brunch, featuring the Easter Bunny himself! This family-friendly railroad excursion takes families on a 1.5-hour roundtrip ride, during which children can enjoy Colebrookdale Railroad-themed coloring books of The Velveteen Rabbit and a festive egg hunt.

Interested in enjoying brunch during the rail excursion? Tickets are available for the dining and lounge cars with a tapas-style menu, desserts, and a complimentary beverage. Coach-class tickets will have access to a standard à la carte menu. While brunch is optional and an additional cost, standard tickets start at $35 per person, with excursions taking place Mar. 23-24 and Mar. 30-31.

Stop by Normandy Farm for a hearty Easter brunch buffet or for a more intimate dining experience at their onsite restaurant, the Farmer’s Daughter.

Other Unique Easter Events

In Norristown, gather your family for a unique hands-on Easter experience at the Elmwood Zoo Park for their eco-family programming on dyeing eggs with natural ingredients. Learn how to use natural materials found in your own backyard and grocery store to create unique dyeing methods. Groups of up to four people can work together to create their own egg-dyeing masterpieces for the Easter Bunny. Participants are required to bring their own dozen eggs. Register in advance at Elmwood Zoo Park.

The Glencairn Museum welcomes art lovers to experience a one-hour guided tour of the Easter story illustrated through the museum’s collection of medieval works of art featured in stained glass, sculpture, and paintings. Episodes depicted in art include the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the Ascension of Christ into heaven. Tours are available by appointment from Mar. 2-May 5.

Easter is also highlighted at the Glencairn Museum this Spring with its latest exhibition Easter Eggs: Symbols of Rebirth and Renewal. For generations, the egg has been known as a symbol of creating and reawakening of the Earth in springtime. This exhibit looks at European Easter Egg traditions and how decorating eggs once symbolized new life and resurrection in the Middle Ages. This exhibition is open to the public from Mar. 2-May 5. Exhibition times may be pre-booked online with a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.
