Popeyes Chicken is planning to open a new location in Abington Township, writes Dino Ciliberti for Patch.

A sign on the fence outside the property on Old York Road that was once home to TD Bank says, “Coming Soon.” The building is currently being prepared for its new tenant and its emerging look is instantly recognizable to chicken lovers throughout the area.

No date is available on when the fast-food chain will open its newest location in the region.

Most recently, Popeyes Louisiana Chicken opened a new eatery in Warminster in 2020. The popular chicken chain also has locations in Lansdale, Cheltenham, Norristown, Levittown, and Bensalem, as well as several in Philadelphia.

Popeyes is famous for its delicious menu of fried chicken, wings, nuggets, and chicken tenders, all of which can be ordered as spicy. The eatery also has a signature chicken sandwich and offers seafood. Available sides include rice and beans, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen was formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1972 and has since grown into a multinational chain of fried chicken restaurants.
