Lynne Macziewski has been making strides since she assumed the role of the Baldwin School’s new head, writes Michael Bradley for Main Line Today.

Macziewski previously served as the associate head of Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

One thing she noticed about her the 135 year-old all-girls school – something that was confirmed by her daughter who is now a senior at Baldwin – is how friendly everybody is.

“We’re a lot less cliquey here,” she said.

Macziewski spent much of her first year in Bryn Mawr acclimating to the area.

“One of her goals is to build community and connections,” said Pat Weiser, Baldwin’s board chair.

“I don’t know when she sleeps. She’s been connecting with every part of the community. It’s great to see and hear the feedback from all the constituencies.”

For the future, she is focused on furthering the evolution of the school’s academic profile as well as building a community for the students.

“We’re thinking about what’s important 10 or 15 years from now,” she said. “That’s where Baldwin is focused.”
