In a collaborative effort to celebrate cultural diversity and foster professional connections, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce for Philadelphia, and the Greater Philadelphia Chinese Cultural Center are joining forces to host a Lunar New Year celebration on February 8 at the Peak Center in Lansdale.

The event promises a festive and culturally enriching experience, featuring traditional food tastings, live music, and an exclusive networking opportunity for area business leaders. The organizers aim to bring together professionals from various backgrounds to celebrate the Lunar New Year, a holiday observed by China, Korea, Vietnam, and other countries.

The Lunar New Year marks the beginning of the calendar year, determined by the phases of the moon.

Despite falling on the same day, each nation presents unique and vibrant celebrations that include traditional food such as rice cakes, banh chung, dumplings, and spring rolls.

Beyond the cultural festivities, the Lunar New Year celebration will provide a unique platform for business leaders to forge new connections.

The organizers have structured the event to include networking opportunities, recognizing the importance of fostering professional relationships within the community.

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery established an Inclusion Council in 2023 in an effort to organize gatherings such as the Lunar New Year to enrich the understanding of cultural celebrations in the community and to bring together a diverse group of business professionals together for connection opportunities.

“We believe that celebrations like these not only showcase the cultural richness of our business community but also provide a platform for meaningful connections to be forged,” said Kim Nguyen, Senior Program Director, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, spokesperson for the organizing committee. “By bringing together business leaders, we hope to create an environment where collaboration and understanding can thrive.”

The event is free and open to business professionals.  For more information and to register, visit www.chambergmc.org.
