Kaitlyn Riccardi, a graduate of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, has found a nice niche for herself painting luxury items, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today.

As an artisan painter for Louis Vuitton, she adds her signature hand-painted designs to the brand’s trunks and boxes.

She can often be found working in the entryway of the brand’s store in the King of Prussia Mall.

Riccardi first started out painting sneakers including a pair of taco sneakers for Taco Bell for a commercial they were shooting, but then turned to more luxury items after a client asked her to paint her Louis Vuitton bag to cover up an old stain.

“I love to paint on items clients find they’re no longer using to create something they’ll adore. I work closely with them to determine their vision for the piece, and we collaborate to come up with a design,” she said.

Asked if she gets nervous painting on expensive items, she said, “It’s funny—you’d totally think so. I go into the project not thinking about the value of the item, but rather the intrinsic value of the artwork going on it.”
