Does Gov. Shapiro See a Presidential Run in His Future? Here Is What He Had to Say
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro recently discussed his track record as governor so far and whether he has a desire to run for president someday with Philadelphia Magazine’s Victor Fiorillo.
Shapiro has received a lot of national attention so far during his tenure as governor with the repair of I-95 and his public condemnation of antisemitism leading many to question whether he may one day run for president.
Here is what he had to say:
“I can tell you that I believe in public service, and I want to do everything I can to make people’s lives better and to get sh—done for them. I also want to protect our democracy and freedom, so I am supporting President Biden in every way I can…”
When asked what his administration has accomplished so far, he said:
“…We made the largest investment in public education in the history of Pennsylvania, including universal free breakfast. We made a significant down payment on violence prevention by hiring 400 state troopers and investing millions in violence prevention programs. We’ve brought in over a billion in private-sector investments in Pennsylvania and delivered massive tax cuts for families and seniors. And we are making government work again.”
