As 2024 ambassadors of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Philly Spin-In, Conshohocken Mayor Yaniv Aronson, his wife Sarah, and their one-year-old son Thomas are recruiting volunteers to join their spin team to raise money for CHOP’s Cardiac Center, writes M. English for MediaNews Group.

This cause is very close to their hearts. Thomas was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and spent many weeks in CHOP’s intensive care unit.

The fundraiser which will be led by Philly’s top spin instructors takes place March 9th and 10th at Live! Casino & Hotel in Philadelphia.

Spin-In team members ride “relay-style” switching riders as much as they would like throughout four 45-minute classes. Virtual participants are also welcome.

Babies like Thomas born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome have an underdeveloped left side of the heart.

His parents explained, “He has had two heart surgeries, one at just two days old, and is doing very well because of the wonderful cardiac team at CHOP.”

They added, “Funds raised will help to support other families going through what we went through this past year as well as continue to fund the research that has given Thomas his success story and, ultimately, help to find a permanent cure.”
